England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver
Closing the stable door...

... Just got a call from Landrover administration to see how they could woo me with a new Discovery 4. Told them straight.. if the dealers representing their brand had offered a fair price for my Vogue I'd probably have a Disco (ok not new but) sat on the drive instead of the Nissan which was my first none Landrover 4x4 product in a very long list of 4x4's. Chap said he would give me a call in a couple of years Laughing I know time is a great healer but offering 25% under the trade in value is going to take me longer to forget than a couple of years Rolling Eyes

I'd been faithfull to the dealership regards service but they certainly didn't promote or encourage regular Landrover servicing by there offer.

Still loving the time I had with the FFRR. I still keep popping in...

Sorry guys but I needed to vent Evil or Very Mad

Pathfinder experience is admittedly not a FFRR refinement but its ticking all the boxes, only niggle was starting when fuel was low.. turned out to be the filter needed to be bleed through .. no doubt the Car sales I got it from ran it dry and didn't bother to bleed it. Tows fine... missing the auto box and only other thing I miss is ability to use Low box without locking all the wheels up (tyres skip) which I used manouvering the caravan up the drive. Then again, maybe when I come to the muddy stuff I'll be glad the axles lock up.. time will tell.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey

i fully understand where you are coming from!! a couple of years ago, i wanted to move from a D2 to a D3. i had had the D1,D2 already and wanted to move on and up.

both my early discos were ES spec so all the knobs and whistles, i was after an HSE in the D3 and they offered me silly money for my immaculate low mileage FDSH D2, so i sold it privately for 3 times what thay offered me and ran over the road to VW for a Touareg, which to be honest was a superb car in every way and as a tow tug for my twin axle caravan was just superb, so i do understand how you feel!!

although i have come back into the fold with the FF, the dealers sometimes need to wake up and smell the coffee!!! taking your money is only the begining, keeping you spending it with them is what they need to work at.

unfortunately they can sell every car on the forecourt a hundred times over, so really don't need to work too hard.

when some baffoon cut me up in my Touareg last year, i insisted on a 4x4 as a courtesy car from the insurance. i got a spanking new, Nissan Pathfinder top spec model. although as you say it ticks all the boxes and does what it's supposed to do and has all the gadjets, but in my opinion there was something missing.

still a very nice set of wheels though. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Past: TDV8(4.4) Vogue
Discovery 3 Commercial
