That sounds promising Squirrel,

What are your initial thoughts on the build quality?

It's not bad at all, as far as I can tell. Apart from the hole being out of alignment, it seems okay. It's fairly robust.

I'll report back if anything exciting happens with it!

2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Just to add my bit of knowledge from working on mine this weekend.
Motor into step bracket where the wedge goes isn’t an interference fit, it just gets tight. I mushroomed the end of the motor shaft trying to drive it out. Grinder to the rescue

Motors are handed LR004807 left and 808 right LR price about £370
Each.

I purchased a £100 motor off eBay which claimed to be correct, it wasn’t. The plug was different and wiring colours different . I had to open both up to trace the colours and solder on the old plug but it’s working.

The bushes for the bracket are available. Judging by my eBay sellers other items I believe that I may have bought a ford transit motor, and a Chinese copy at that. But it’s working for now.

PS I find it hard to believe that there are any aluminium pins in the hinge.
