So I had the security update today all OK and they knew I had a Ghost2 fitted, from my last visit when the TCU was changed out. It (Ghost2)has zero effect on the update. I didn't purposely remind them just to see what happened The dealer even recommended when handing over the keys use a visual deterrent and consider Ghost 2 or similar. he never even reacted when I said its already got a Ghost2 fitted So @madasmad, book it in and dont tell them just ensure its in Ghost service mode before you hand over both key sets. Or go to a different dealer if they become awkward. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

mine is booked in to the dealers tomorrow for N828 security enhancement, I mentioned the Ghost and the dealer checked with the workshop who said no problems, they've done a few with them and there are no ill effects on the security enhancement or on the operation of the ghost. Mine is going into Stoke LR if that helps you mate, I'm in south Cheshire so only up the road from me. Mine's had an oil change and a couple of niggly warranty issues sorted there and they've been pretty good. Cant fault them at all. First time FFRR owner |

Further south than that Kot, Bramhall and Stockport are Manchester these days (although the locals will try and say otherwise) county is full of Chavs (and Chav nots) so never far away from one. First time FFRR owner |

I sold the L322 just before Xmas and opted out of immediately upgrading to a 495 as originally planned given security, Kim pins, crankshafts and other issues. Purchased a BMW 730D the ignition key of which goes to sleep if no movement detected for about 40 seconds so no signal to be picked up and relayed to the car. Given what was said about new keys I wonder if this is what JLR are now adding. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

I contacted the local stealers to check about the security update on my 2019 SC. They told me to call LR to check. Bit of a cheek when it's booked for a service and surely they should do that? ANYHOO, I emailed the head of service who I have known for about 20 years.... she checked my VIN and the update was done in December 2022 by the supplying dealer I bought it used from. Strange really, I didn't know that LR knew about the security problem and rectified it so long ago. Obvs won't have any impact on my insurance renewal! Just wondering when the security programme started? 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Was there not a problem where the older security update needed to be done again anyway? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

Tell the insurance company, gives them a reason to reduce the price. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. UPDATE - As per Arch’s suggestion I took my car to LR Stoke who did the security update and this works perfectly fine with my Ghost II.
