Scotland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Fuji White

Hi,

The Vogue Centre is a great place to compare different trim combinations and colours up front, there isn't really anywhere else where you can do that in one place. They even have most of the various options, colour combos, types of steps, towbar, tints, clears etc.

After going there I set my mind on a Westie in white with jet interior because the SE & AB seats seemed a bit squishy to me, and the bolsters seemed to suffer quite early on, they are softer with nappa leather whereas the Westie has Oxford which is a bit tougher also I really couldn't walk away from that H & K HD stereo.

It's a bit of a trek and I found them a bit expensive so having made up my mind I just sat scouring the ads every few days, soon as I found my unicorn pounced on it.

Bit of a trek to get there but I took it as a day out, enjoyed it and it saved me a lot of hassle and head scratching on what spec to go for.

I can't imagine that there is a big enough sample here to generate worthwhile statistics on each engine option's reliability.

Probably better to choose a car that you like the look and feel of, has a good history and fairs well on the key points-to-watch mentioned here - then commit and hope for the best.

You've already narrowed-down engine choices (and therefore what is available for you to buy) if you take the advice about avoiding the diesels for short journeys anyway.

Just my 2p...

IMO relaibility is an overated quality in a car like an L322 which is now between 12 and 20 yrs old....
Ask your self this very important question - do you 'need' an L322 or do you 'want' one. If the former then also ask what other vehicles can do the job for less money. If the later then just buy what you want and fix it when it goes wrong after making sure your total budget includes a hefty contingency fee (£3k would be a sensible minimum). 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The L322's are reliable in 2 things.

1:They'll need new parts fitted.
2: They'll cost you an arm and a leg if you have them fitted.

But I personally don't care much. Mine's a true joy to drive. I don't think I have ever had a personal conveyance that I liked to drive so much ! I feel it almost as an honour. Cool
Beyond that there's the fact (or so it seems to me) that people are less prone to cut in front of you or likely to tailgate you.
That's in the Netherlands and Germany anyway.

Hi, If your after reliability the Toyota dealer is just down the road.

People have these cars because they love what they do and the way they do it, putting up with the bad bits like a grumpy git with the misbehaving puppy.

You can't compare the interior of a Landcruiser with a Ranger Rover, it's like the difference between residing at the Dorchester & dossing in an Ibis.

Laughing Yes, I think that I am starting to understand it.

Imagine that I am considering a 109/110 as an alternative!
