Worth having the codes read by a good independent specialist as a start. That may give you clue as to what is going on. There is one in Tavistock but forget the name....
Other thought...anyone spilt a drink near the HDC button recently? Could be sticking Whistle Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Hi, Not sure if this is something, but I was just setting off one day when the car came to a sudden stop.

Was the Mrs put her bag on the centre consol and managed to hit the mode buttons and it had slipped into ruts mode and HDC kicked in.

Luckily I was only doing about 10 to 20mph, but that was a shocker, is it possible similar has happened in your case ?

Best Regards

When I get home I’ll scan (gap tool) ,nothing been split maybe a sticky button, and if the wife had just set off I would of gone with the handbag but she had been out and about for 30-40 mins driving so I don’t know but like you said scary

As Andy Roo has said - either the HDC button has been pressed inadvertently (easily done when placing things on the centre console) or perhaps the mode button has been pressed in a similar manner and the car goes into Grass/Gravel/Snow which switches on HDC automatically. Simple answer is to leave the kitchen chains shackled and not let her drive the car...... Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Hi, shame you can't just plug the wife in when you need her.

Come up with that and you'll be onto a winner.

And I don't mean those toys you boys are all using down the lonely heart club either Rolling with laughter
