Some odd symptoms- possibly FSR?

Hi all,
I have a '57 plate 3.6 TDV8 that, touch wood, has been fabulous.
Recently noticed some oddities, and after some googling wonder if it could be the final stage resistor - and would appreciate your thoughts.
The symptoms:
1) there is a fan (roughly behind dash, but in engine bay) staying on for fair few minutes after turning off engine, even if its been on only for 30 seconds.
2) auto climate control - when trying to make car hot, I can hear fans blasting at high speed, but air doesn't come out front facing vents. However, if I manually select those vents with the buttons air comes out fine.
3) possibly some battery drain going on.

Is it likely to be the FSR, do you think?
Thanks!
Tony

Could it be the FBH winding down after being activated because of the cold weather?

Thanks for the thought...that's a good point. Never noticed it before, but feasible I guess.
I could never get the FBH working on the timer, assume it didn't work at all. Car does seem to heat up pretty quickly though.

Any ideas if that would be linked to oddities in the cabin fans?
