Caveat Emptor is probably the most relevant factor for this one …. |

Out of interest, I ran the registration. The car has been used and not well maintained. Not only has it now got another 10k miles over and above the 67k in the advert but in September 23 it failed MoT spectacularly.

Garages and private owners are entitled to set their price. If it sells above book they win if it doesnt, they can try lowering their price to secure a sale. Selling for 2 years normally attracts depreciation, evidently not in this case. Looks a decent car but ultimately not a euro 6.

I agree that any seller can set their price but if you haven't sold it in 2 1/2 years, that would suggest the price is too high. Most dealers want to see stock turning over, not sitting on the forecourt. If this had simply been stock, then it would have cost the dealer a fortune in depreciation over that period. As it happens, the dealer must have been using the car as the mileage rose significantly in the period and he saved money by only carrying out maintenance required to get an MoT. I certainly wouldn't feel confident buying off a dealer like this.
