That's seriously cold, I remember visiting Goose Bay years ago in the winter and all the vehicles were all lined up and plugged in at the air base.

I just read a thread on Google about manufactures not shipping cars to Canada with them as standard, they're citing better performing oils and the like as no need to have them as standard.

Me, I think one of the first options I'd be going for.

Of course the diesel models have another secret weapon to reduce oil viscosity at low temperatures  “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

My Canadian L322 (2008) had a block heater as standard, I wonder if they dropped it on the L405 ? Agreed its a bit of a miss in a cold climate. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Using a block heater during the winter is a game changer. It ensures the car starts smoothly, without any struggle. This surely reduces wear and tear on the engine. Plus, a significant bonus – it gets the cabin warm quickly.
