Picked up my 2019 L405 SDV8 AB on Thursday before Xmas and had to call LR assist yesterday. Engine management light on after a 100 mile round trip.

Exhaust temperature sensor error and oil level sensor error, according to the AA man. Awaiting a booking at the supplying dealer.

Following on from my previous post.....

My car was booked into the supplying dealer for resolving the issues found but the earliest they could fit me in was 31st Jan.

Meanwhile, my car went into permanent ‘restricted performance’ yesterday whilst 4 miles from home. LR assist attended and have now arranged for my car to be transported to the dealer today. I’m told a courtesy car will be provided by Enterprise. It’ll be interesting to see what turns up.

As an aside, the LR Assist technician applied the security update that LR have recently announced whilst checking my car. Seemingly the bulletin appeared a couple of days ago for my 2019 car. He said I should see a letter regarding this very shortly. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Interesting about security updates - I was told by the dealer that none were applicable…

All I know is that the LR Assist guy said it had only just become available for my car. He added that they were rolling it out year by year starting with the newest first.

Hi Vogue, that’s not good news. Fortunately they’ve provided me with a 23 plate Defender D300 XS whilst mine is in dock. I only changed from 3 years of new Defender ownership to a Range Rover 3 days before Xmas! 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

What's the part number? have you done a google search? Its only a temperature sensor

Yes Kot, but it’s not that simple is it. The main agents won’t fit 3rd part supplied parts on a vehicle under warranty unless they are supplied by JLR. If they do then the warranty is invalidated, they also won’t fit them as they won’t get paid by JLR, plus if there is a recurring issue then who sorts it out.

I have a loan vehicle from JLR, so I’m not interested in sourcing parts myself off eBay or elsewhere, paying for the dealer to fit them, and invalidating my warranty.

The 2 links I posted are not eBay. Surely they are advertised as LR parts by reputable companies ?
If that being so, then why cant the JLR/dealer network buy these back etc to try and reduce this bottle neck and improve the company image. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
