Best Diagnostics for all cars?

Looking for experiences of the best diagnostics for all cars?

I'm considering either the iCarsoft CR Max or the Autel MaxiDAS or MaxiPRO. My mechanic recommends the Autel. Key capabilities I'm looking for:

- DPF regens plus reset count capability
- injector coding
- automated test procedures e.g turbo actuator, air injecfion etc 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Ireland 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

Hi Gary

I bought the Autel Maxicom 808BT as I have 6 or 8 cars here in the yard and wanted something that might talk to most of them. Although it has gotten me out of a lot of bother and I've used it on friends cars too the annual fee of €150 is a little expensive. It has also annoyed me that this unit cannot code spare keys where as its cheaper cousin the OTOFIX D1 Lite can and also has Bi-Directional. So from a quick bit of research last month there is a D1 and D1 Lite. I believe there software licence is every 2 years rather than 1 year, the units seem to do more but look the same and cost less?

Ive my heart set on the Gap tool for the range rover but for now the Autel is getting me most of what I need.

One thing I like about the Autel and Otofix though is the battery tester. With Autel it was around $299 but now I see it for between €99-200. This unit connects to the tester and you can in car test the battery, alternator and starter motor. On bench test you can test standalone batteries. This unit alone has saved me buying new batteries when the issues lies elsewhere. Current yokes
