3.6 td v8 2007 crank case breather

Hi guys happy new year. Can anyone tell me where to find the crank case breather on the td v8 please?
My son has just bought one and when he had it serviced they said they thought it might be blocked / restricted. TIA

Open bonnet, take out the engine cover, take out the vent box (technical term) just two 13mm head nuts. Undo 2 10mm head nuts and one bolt for the aluminium pipes (aircon?) and tie them up out of the way.
Put small step ladder on driver's side engine compartment and lay yourself over the engine bay.
Behind the oil filter housing there's an oil cooler, behind the cooler is the breather thing.
It's well tucked in under a number of coolant hoses.
I was able to do it without taking off any coolant hoses but getting the 2 Torx 30 bolts out was not easy and getting the valve thing itself from its lair was even more frustrating.
Putting it back in however was relatively quick work.

Do yourself a favour and drop about half of the coolant so you can undo the hoses and make life easy for yourself.

Cheers, Ard

I bought a new membrane, the old one was somewhat stiff, be careful prying open the tabs and best warm it up so the plastic don't break as easy.
You can also just buy the whole breather which I think is around 90 quid.

Put a new new membrane in as I'm a cheapskate. It did take some time to get here as I comes from the Ukraine. (about 2 weeks)

It wasn't dirty at all inside.
