Battery replacement

I recently had a full JLR health check and the only issue found was I needed a new battery.
I've not had any issues other than the odd "Battery Low Start Engine" or "System Shutting Down".
But I assume thats as I had the radio on for a while.
Sometimes I also get a clicking sound from the off side rear battery area when ignition is turned off.

Anyway, which battery should I buy? AGM or Lead Acid?
Would I have to change both batteries?

Which AGM below would you recommend?
Halfords AGM 019 £246 + £28 fitting.
Europarts, Exide £304
Tayna, Enduroline £200 (they state a 020 not 019?)
Kwik Fit, Bosch £243
GSF, Yuasa £172

I bought a EK950 Exide Start-Stop AGM Car Battery 95Ah 017 from tayna. Same size and CCA as the OEM one and slightly more amp hour. Exide made my original battery so I thought it was the best option as the local dealer had them on back order for trade.

I had to reset the BMS with pathfinder but after that it's stopped complaining about the low battery. Some garages will have a tool that can do the reset but I'm not convinced Halfords will so double check.

If you have a 2017 you will only have the main battery.

Also worth noting a genuine jlr battery is similar to some of those prices you've put up so you could just take it to the dealership.

I got the Enduroline AGM for my 2017, because it had the 5-year warranty.
Only 18mths in, seems to be OK. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Thanks guys.
Looks like the Halfords is the middle of the road and a 5 year warranty.

What do you think about buying the accessory battery, do they fail as much as the main?

No panel. Ive pulled and tugged at the vent on rear drivers side boot liner thinking a panel will dislodge but nothing.

There's a built in handle to pull on... Near the buttons for the seats...

If it were me, I would pay the extra and buy genuine JLR batteries... Thumbs Up

No sir of course they don’t manufacture there out batteries! Nor do they manufacture tyres sir 🛞🛞🛞… Whistle Rolling Eyes Whistle

As Stan says, they do sell them! And they are made to very fine tolerances so won’t be copied or beaten by other manufacturers in terms of quality or materials used… for sure… Thumbs Up

How much is the JLR battery from the MD though?

One bought from Tanya say like Gremlins still has the 5 year warranty some JLR ones might not last that so for items like that, i dont believe its worth it.

As for tyres I see mine once had some fitted and bought from the MDs and the price was good! overfinch modified
