Yep, most of my comments were bait and tongue in cheek. But I have moved on from caravaning. I too can enjoy friends over, don’t have to drive home, can have bbq’s, can be served with great food and drinks in my room, on the terrace or in the restaurant or even BYO and have freedom to explore from my hotel, B&B or rental.

I don’t have to fly but even when I do statically it’s far safer in the 300 moh tube than anything on a road. Much more likely to get wiped out by a caravan on a roundabout cutting lanes 😂

I do stand by the traffic issues caused by 99% of caravaners, they can’t drive, use under powered vehicles, don’t care and a good percentage are ignorant and lack any curtesy. Long gone are the days when a slower vehicle would move over to let traffic pass safely, they just wave their fist and look surprised when other motorists, fly by, take risks and maybe give the bird. Speak to any caravaner and they will say it’s not them and they have never seen a traffic jam… yep, because they don’t look behind for 4 hours!

I get it, it’s a hobby, but like Sky diving it’s not for me now, did when young, even being scared of heights and before I worked out it was safer to stay in the plane 🤣

The investment/ reward ratio still doesn’t add up for me, unless you have a hell of a lot of disposable cash.

He’s baiting. Something you don’t often see here.
When I had my Swift serviced in Basildon a few times they all swore by Coachman for build quality. It was one of the makes they never had warranty issues with.

Had Baileys and lunars and now have an Adria Seine.
The Adria build quality is far superior to the other vans we have owned as is the thought that goes into the layout. The extra length on the A frame makes towing so much better and we have a bike rack fitted with plenty of space for both electric bikes.

This model has single beds but we are still able to reach each other !

I must say I’m usually impressed with the different approach that Adria take. Their designs on such things as hob/sink set up are very good. Giving space in front of the burners is excellent. Swinging lights and front kitchens are unusual too.

Hey, I believe that most of the 'moaners' who post here to criticise caravaner's have never owned a caravan let alone ever used one.

For those who complain about us holding up traffic why do you see us as a challenge to be overtaken at all costs, Ive left a few embarrassed faces behind when I put my foot down in my 4.4 Ranger and I never hold up any traffic.

I would never criticise anyone that chooses another type of holiday each to their own so live and let live eh.

Sooo---- caravanning is the best thing we have done for years, it's an absolute adventure for us and at 80 years look forward to doing it for some time yet !!! RR owner

My parents have had caravans since their early 20s and still have one now. They might have held people up with their first tow car, which was a Mini estate, but are more likely to be held up by middle lane huggers on the motorway than getting in the way on A / B roads. It’s quite a few years ago now, but my Dad had a Saab 95 Aero company car and that had some ‘go’ even when towing, he used to overtake cars on A roads which surprised a few people! MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
