United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black
Rear Suspension Sway

Evening,

Looking for some help on an issue that's been driving me nuts for a while now.

The rear end of my 2010 TDV8 feels really 'disconnected'; when going over dips in the road, has a lot of lateral (side to side) play in the rear, to the point where it can feel quite dangerous to drive. It's recently passed it's MOT with no advisories.

So far I've replaced all the 'easier' bits to get to over summer:
Rear subframe bushes
Toe control arms
Lower arm ball joints
Upper arm ball joints
Stabiliser bar links
Shock absorbers (tonight)

All parts are OEM.

After taking it for a drive tonight, it's definitely better/tighter than it was - the rear left shock had no oil at all in it. But the 'swaying' feeling is still there over harsh bumps.

Obviously, I still haven't change the Upper and Lower arm bushes. I left these initially as the upper one looks a pain to get to, and because they don't actually look that bad. The air suspension performs perfectly and no visual indication of any issues. I also have no error codes which relate on the IID tool.

Any ideas or has anyone experienced anything similar? I don't want to change the bushes (in the middle of winter), to find the problem is still there.

Cheers

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

I had a similar issue with my old car in that it felt really unstable and as if it was steering from the rear when hitting a rough patch of road.

When it was tracked they hadn’t torqued the OSR toe control arm. I found it loose. I took it back, had it re-tracked and torqued properly and it was perfect after that.

Thanks will triple check torque on everything tomorrow. I use a digital torque wrench and threadlocker just in case.

I had a similar experience to this and it turned out to be the top hub bush. It had all but disintegrated. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
