L322 Supercharged electronics in meltdown

So it all started when the car no longer responded to the remote unit and I had to open the car with the key and then press the unlock button to open all the doors. It then progressed to the alarm sounding for a while whilst I was driving. Then the battery would drain at random times whilst parked and locked. Now the button for the doors only works when it wants too. Any ideas? Big Cry Bow down

I agree with Stan.

These cars rely on a good battery and all sorts of strange things happen when the battery is starting to get old.

Do you know when yours was last replaced?

First thing I’d try is disconnected it, ensuring it’s fully recharged and then refitting it. You could also get somewhere like Halfords to test the battery to make sure that it’s still healthy.

The battery was replaced about 5 years ago, but it was supplied with a lifetime guarantee. Perhaps I will get that checked at the weekend just to be sure.

The alternator was replaced 2 years ago, so that should be ok?

I have done the ‘hard reset’ on 3 occasions in order to see if that helped, but it hasn’t.

Any other thoughts?

Might it be worth me getting an auto electrician to have a look if the battery and alternator do turn out to be ok?

Perhaps if they were to clear down any fault codes and then I do a hard reset it might be advantageous?

I’ve had the car coming up to 7 years, and have been looking at a SV Autobiography 565 as a retirement treat. But at the same time, I really do love my old bus and am loath to give it up.

5 years old is old for a battery in an L322.

It could easily be something else, however, I reckon that’s where I’d focus my efforts firstly.

Thanks for that info. I’ll get the battery checked on Saturday. It’ll be an easy fix if that’s the issue. Thumbs Up
