It's only money

I've been reading a few posts recently regarding the cost of running a Range Rover well I suppose I am lucky I have 3 cars on the drive. Two are cheap transport have low VED, fairly low insurance, do millions of miles to the gallon but of the three which one gives me the most pleasure - you probably guessed it the Range Rover, high VED, extortionate insurance maybe 25mpg but its not cheap transport its a pleasure to drive and always puts a smile on my face.

I agree you only live once. I smile every time I drive my Range Rover (Jennifer the Beast)... In 3 weeks will do a long drive to Italy for Snowboarding... so great for the Autobahns...

In Germany the ecomony from the RR and my Mini Copper S Cabrio are about the same. Diesel is cheaper than Petrol. So costs about the same driving either of them. SDV8 AB MY 2020

@Supershuttle:

A perfect solution, sell the other 2 cars, and the house, buy a cheap touring caravan and live the life…… Whistle Very Happy Very Happy “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Have to admit the heated steering wheel is currently worth the crippling insurance fee alone. FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

I keep wondering if I should look at an L405, but given the climate with insurance and thefts, plus I love my L322, im not so sure.

Also makes me wonder what the hell I could have next if it’s not a Range Rover. Kinda like the Sport too, but similar issues with insurance etc…

I find it genuinely baffling that people are ever shocked by a £100k luxury SUV costing a lot to run.

See also the sky is blue and bear's toilet habits in the woods etc

I still miss the red RR it was a 3.6 diesel, I did buy a 5.0l Supercharged (Ipanema Sand was the colour made up by the JLR marketing folk but goldish to the rest of us) then this one also goldish (Arabica) but back to a diesel and of course an L405 - got to keep up with the times. Geoff
