Gremlin on steering adjustment motor

So the other day whilst out in her RR I parked up after a reasonable distance, turned everything off, locked the car and walked off.
Came back 15 mins later, unlocked the car got in key in ignition, turned it on and it fired up, but immediately the steering column lowered straight to the bottom point of its adjustment almost trapping my legs. No matter what I did to the adjustment stalk nothing happened, turned the ignition off, then back on and I was able to adjust it back up, then pressed the memory button on the seat and it automatically adjusted to it preset position.
Has anyone any ideas about what caused it....apart from the Range rover gremlins??

Regards

Yes, I've had something similar happen in my '09 L322. In my case I was always able to readjust it but sometimes it would reposition itself to the lowest position. Very frustrating!

I solved my issue by using my IID to turn off this feature.

It's on my list of things to eventually fix. I don't know if it's the motor controls or a shorted wire or some other issue.

If the collective minds here have found a common source that would be great!

Good luck!
