The £2.6k is for those of us fortunate enough to afford to buy (or lease) a brand new L406.the tax will then incur the over £40k surcharge for the subsequent 5 years over and above the current £180 rate. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

If you can afford a new RR then it's unlikely you will be troubled by £2.6k a year to tax it.... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Just another way of milking the hard-working and successful. It's Socialism by stealth. Those who can buy the cars new are probably paying higher personal taxes anyway, and quite likely employ people too. Isn't the VAT and what HNWs contribute indirectly via their spending with the butcher, baker, and candlestick maker enough? 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black 2018 D300 SE Velar in champagne Spiffing wheel centre caps, L322 sill repair panels, etc |

I agree and also tax the poor more as it will make them work harder instead of scrounging off the hard working rich. Road tax should only be for poor people to discourage them from owning cars and filling up the roads so the rich can get to work and go on holiday more easily. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

It's a drop in the ocean when spending £100k+ on a car. It's only very high in the year anyway. |
