No, but he is a member over on the Disco forum as that was his last car… And no, until today he had no idea this issue ever existed! I asked the MOT tester if the uprights were part of their MOT check and he confirmed, it was my telling him about the issue that makes him now check every RR they have in! Some good is coming from education then… |

He's a lucky guy you found that, just waiting for him to bump up a kerb on lock and bye bye upright and strut.... Pete

Nor the bit that tells the MOT tester to clean off the build up of crud around that area and fully inspect for cracks! Oh wait! No it doesn’t… Honestly, what’s the point? Seriously |

So that has both sides cracked at the same time then Craig? My god that is scary. I had one go on mine, noticed it while servicing and of course helped by the info on this website. I check them at least weekly now and also all the ones I come across at work which is a lot as we deal in L/R products, but so far only mine has reared its head. Done back in January and been ok so far fingers crossed.

It's taken a while but JLR have finally accepted liability and repaired my customers car. Paid his AA recovery bill (non MOT'd car as failed on the uprights) and his hire car charges...
