Hi all

Does the FFRR come with a tracker as standard?
I've been searching around for some insurance quotes and a few companies specific the car must have a tracker or it won't be covered for theft.

i dont think they do as standerd ....maybe the newer models do but you can get one cheap enough now  "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

If you factor in the price of the tracker fitting, annual subs etc would you make that saving by going with one of the insurance company's requesting it? Also if your pride and joy was stolen would you really want it back? I know I personally wouldn't. Being recorded as stolen/recovered would kill the resale value plus the feeling the scrote had been in my car an driven it like a etc. Would rather it never came back!

the ffrr doesnt come with a tracker, any tracker that is fitted would be an aftermarket one and would have to be activated by yourself if you had just brought the car...

Best advice has to be go with an insurance company who don't insist on a tracker. There are plenty out there who don't care as I found out on the comparison sites. The main ones to stay clear of (from what I could tell at the time) were the places you'd normally buy fruit and veg.

yep ditto the above my company wanted a tracker fitted so i just changed loads out there that dont... the cost of the tracker and subs makes it to expensive..

2. If some w****r stole it, I'm not sure I'd want it back, it would be soiled in my mind

It's been a few years since any insurance company said I needed a Tracker, so when I sold my TD6 i left the Tracker on board instead of moving it again. Discovery 4 HSE

I have a tracker on another car.......the alarm is tempremental and costs an annual subcription fee of £250.00. Not cheap! Current MY2020

I had tracker installed in mine as I already had the subscription running from the Maserati, £99 to be installed and I think about £11 a month? 2006 Mercedes CLS

Just had exactly the same thing moving from a P38 to an L322.

Direct Line who I've been with for as long as I can remember insisted on me getting a Tracker. I'm now with someone else.

I also had my Cortina (well my dads actually that I used all the time) stolen many moons ago. Mum and dad went on holiday just after it had been stolen and whilst they were away, we got a call from the rozzers telling me they had found it.

I went down to Dover (where it was) to pick it up and apparently it had been used on some sort of raid but they didn't tell me any more than that. They had tried to take my stereo (that my dad thought was the reason they took it in the first place) but no other damage.

I drove it away and went to put some juice in on the way back. I openned the boot where I found about 4 boxes of chocolate bars, fizzy drinks anf some cigarette packets. They obviously did raid a shop or some such but the rozzers "forgot" to look in the boot..! Ash
