SDV8 REMAP

Hi All,

Has anyone remapped their SDV8?

I've always tweaked my cars and coming from a fast Audi wagon daily....I do miss the firepower.

Now the SDV8 is no slouch...but I do wonder what it would be like if tweaked.

So anyone had it done, recommendations, thoughts.

Iceboy

DMS or JE, I’ve not had this one done but previously have used JE - both companies are highly regarded as being the best at what they do - the DMS churns out 400 horses. Beware of the back street garage “Bradford” type operations 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I believe that in standard trim, the engine delivers 700nm of torque, which conveniently matches the rating of the 8 speed ZF transmission.

Chipping will increase that, so in theory the transmission is overloaded.

Not sure I fancy the expense...

Range Rover world completed mine, its certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the car even more….no wafting or hesitation when pulling away….and the 30 to 60 is addictive ! Thumbs Up

only regret not doing this two years ago!

Thumbs Up

Side note: The hesitation most people mention I encountered in my L322 TDV8 (4.4 Puma). So very similar engine.

Noticed the MAF was caked, looking through the hole I noticed the donut plenum was full of gunk - so I had this removed and professionally cleaned. The hesitation was gone after this, perhaps worth doing this for obvious reasons, but not considering it as a remap reason.

A fair few of these have been remapped now but not aware of any horrors, obviously choosing an outfit who has a rolling road and will see the map to your car and not a generic flash/tuning box will be the way to go.
