I'm after a petrol Vogue for up to £14k but could go higher for the right car. I'd like to spend as little as possible as I'm tight and the car will be coming out to New Zealand with me in a couple of months so I'll have to pay import duty on the cost of it.

It will mostly be used for carrying bikes and kayaks when I go camping at weekends so my ideal spec would be:

Blue, dark grey or green
Mileage below 80k
Side steps (for getting kayaks on the roof)
Privacy glass (for sleeping in the back when it's raining too hard to camp)
Detachable tow bar

but I'd happily drop any of the above for a good car as steps and towbar can easily be added and privacy glass is a nice to have really.

I've looked at a few already and have a reasonable shortlist of choices around the £12k mark but if anyone on here has one and is thinking of getting rid then please let me know.

LPG is available enough out there but LPG cars have to have an additional MOT style test each year and pay road user charges. Petrol is about £1 per litre and the difference against LPG isn't sufficient to cover the additional costs so makes no economic sense.

Otherwise your car fits the bill nicely

our 2003 4.4 vogue will be going up for sale shortly ( next few weeks) it has all the usual toys, full history last serviced 3K ago, long mot & tax, its dark blue with parchment leather, shes covered 84k, side steps, tow bar (detachable) etc etc very nice order inside and out other than a few age related marks no dents etc. everything in good working order. price can be discussed as have yet to come up with a firm price! let me know if it sounds of interest.
