United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Used Car availability and Prices as of Aug 09

I was chatting to a friend of mine who is looking to get an early model FFRR L322 to replace his very old Isuzu. He is looking for either the 4.4 or the 3.0 and is not bothered if its the HSE or Vogue.
He wants one in A1 condition and now more than 40,000 miles and around 15-20K max

Apparently you cannot get a decent 2nd hand one for the right money at the moment, none of the Dealers have the stock and cars coming in on PX are selling before they touch the forecourt. He has had a sniff of an 04 HSE TD6 coming into a local Dealer, and such is the demand, he has had to cough up £500 deposit to secure it just so that he can view it before it is sold to someone else! He even saw an early WHITE BMW X5 petrol that was on a forecourt for less than an hour before it sold. It's mad out there!

I could kick myself because at the tail end of last year the same dealer had a few early model vogues and HSE's in good nick going for silly low money. I did think at the time, that I could buy them, put some TLC into them and sell them on for a small profit each.

Everybody is telling me the same and yet I have had no interest in my '05 S/C at £24,950. Dealers are asking £27k upwards for cars with more miles! It must be the same old same old, when you're buying " Oh they're scarce" and when you're selling "Demand has dropped" etc.
Rant over!

Ivan,

I think its always the case, no matter what state of the market. The Dealers will always spin a story to justify them demanding top whack while giving you bottom dollar. Discovery 4 HSE

RRUK, I understand that a dealer needs a margin to exist (though the size of that margin can be open to debate!). I'm just surprised I haven't even had the usual silly offer/ dodgy p/x/ Nigerian uncle calls. Then again I don't need lots of calls, just one genuine buyer. The funny thing is I put the details into webuyanycar expecting a laugh, but they were within a few hundred pounds of my asking price. The drawbacks? 1 Their nearest depot is in Scotland 2 They won't buy a Northern Ireland reg. car Rolling Eyes

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

The market is a little quiet at the moment compared to when I first started looking at a variety of options. Prices have also gone up a little.

I am looking for a 05/06 Vogue/Vogue SE. Ideal scenario for me is to get into a TDV8 though two dealers have told me that most wont come onto the market until January which is when they turn 3 year old. Not sure if I can wait that long. What should I do?

To date, I have only seen one car that has caught my eye and that was at CarGiant of all places. It was a 05/05 Td6 Vogue SE in Buckingham Blue with 55K on the clock that sold for £23999. (Adam, if only your friend could stretch to £25K. CarGiant have a 4.2 Supercharged in Tonga Green). At the mains dealers there was a 05/55 Vogue SE for £26K. The car had about 50K on the clock with an Approved Warranty. Unfortunately that car was in Preston and it was gone by the friday after it was listed.

Most cars at the dealers with mileage of 50K or less are going out the door pretty quick. Unfortunately for me most are too far from London and too far apart to make the drive worthwhile. Paul

It was a black one with tan interior. I called on Tuesday just after it was listed. By Thursday, it was gone. Paul
