As above what options do I have re AT tyres for my 2011 TDV8 SE

I had 275/45 on one and 255/55 on another both GG AT3, would recommend the 255/55 IMHO

I run 255 55 20 General Grabber AT3 and very happy. Spare fits in wheel well at 20psi. Carry a small compressor

Same, although my spare fits in at standard pressure - not sure what it’ll be like getting it out though.

Just got a set of GG AT3’s in 255 55 20 - sensibly priced and they look good - toyed with the wider 275 some on here have recommended

I have the BFG AT 275 55 20 on my L322 SC, it rubs on full lock but is not terrible.

Its a lot nicer over bumps but wet grip on tarmac is done with hope and a prayer!
When I was getting them I was in a rush and got these as they were on next day delivery, other wise I would have got some milder AT's.

Pro: very hard wearing, good bit of sidewall for dampening bumps and very puncture resistant
damn good offroad, looks very butch if you are into that.

Cons: will increase the rolling resistance noticeably, terrible on wet tarmac vs any milder ATs (was running yokohoma geolanders on a 97 toyota truck and it handled corners in the wet better than the L322 on BFG's. 275's only "fit" in the spare slot with most of the plastic trim removed and the tyre fully deflated. If I need to get the thing out I will need some one to hold in my hernia!

Check out the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail. They just came out and is the direct replacement for the Discoverer AT3 4S.

My 2012 WM had Goodyear Duratrac 255/55R19 on style 15 wheels, but there are also 20" Duratracs 255/55R20 which I have on my L405. These (20") have a speed rating of 99mph which will be lower than some of the other choices, but I have found them good in wintry conditions and also off road. Duratracs are the LR homologated off road tyre. They do make fuel consumption worse due to higher rolling resistance and are noisier than standard road tyres. Braking distances are poorer and one has to drive more cautiously, but I am happy to accept these shortcomings for the benefits.

255/55R20 tyres on the 322 will raise the car slightly from standard which will have a small adverse effect on stability too, I had that size road tyres on my 2012 WM and was content enough with it, advise insurers if using non-standard tyres anyway. Only Range Rovers since 1988

You can lower the standard suspension height via the GAP IID tool by 12mm to offset any stability issues. Insurers are not bothered by tyre size differences as long as the wheel size is OE. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I run 255/55 R20's and asked my insurer (Admiral) and they said they were only concerned if the stock wheel size was changed so 21 or 22 inch wheels would be an issue even if they had the same rolling radius. Fair enough JayGee, good to hear. I suppose the best advice is to always let your insurance company know!

I've run L405 wheels & tyres on an L322, so 55 profile instead of the stock 50 profile and if anything the car felt better! I ran them in a winter only as they were all season Verde's and I didn't mind them getting all the salt, etc.

I might not have told the insurance company though and always drove with a nagging worry about the implications!

Recently sold the car, back on it's original wheels and tyre size of course!
