United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

"Thanks Dolphinboy. Any particular buying sites you’d recommend? Prices on Autotrader seem a little excessive."

In the past I haveve bought mine from Brightwells (leominster Auction house), Ebay, and from this forum. All have been exceptional. Personally I would buy off this forum over all others. most people here look after their vehicles and keep good records. IMHO, a full LR MD service schedule is worthless. I use Specialist LR independents to look after mine.

Put details of what spec you are looking for on here and someone will know of stg relevant for you.

L405, at present, doesn’t do it for me, although I have seen some colours that really suit the L405.
There’s nothing out there that does it for me to be honest.
The L322 is such a classic shape & wallows in her own self importance that she’ll be with me for a while.
If I changed, then it’s wallet open wide to keep up with maintenance & preventative maintenance to get her o the level I am at the moment 🤣

Good luck with the search, one will be along soon.

Just out of interest, how many miles are on the clock and what trim level?

I know you're not selling, I'm just curious.

If you are only doing 10k miles a year you may want to consider 5.0SC 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Just be mindful the 5.0 S/C can suffer for rattly timing chain etc. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
2025MY Defender D350 90 in Silicon Silver on coils
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"
Many, many other Landies over the years
My preferred specialist: www.glenrands.co.uk

Do you have any regrets or are you glad you had the experience?

I’ll give them a look but would need to do the numbers on fuel, insurance and road tax to see what the differences would be.

Is the 5.0 SC any more reliable than the 2011 4.4 tdv8?

Northern Ireland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I had a X3 35d M Sport years ago and it was a great car. Last year I bought a Range Rover Westminster. I bought privately and paid what I feel was a fair price for a 2 owner 53k miles car that had been well cared for.
Find a local specialist who can work on it and start a program of preventative maintenance and enjoy it. They are an amazing car. I don't find myself hankering after an L405 as the L322 is so capable. Its totally different to an X3 or even an X5, neither of which have any off road ability even over wet grass.
Go for one and enjoy it.

I have found a 2011 4.4 tdv8 Vogue SE with 116k miles for £11k.

It’s black with the ivory interior. Very nice spec.

I’m not posting the link though in case somebody else swoops in and buys it from underneath me! (Believe it or not that happened to me once before with an Audi A4 Allroad!)

Here’s a photo instead.

This might sound like a really daft novice question, but is the reliability on the L322 good enough to use as a daily driver averaging 10k - 12k a year?

I was half tempted to keep my Qashqai as a back up in case the RR needs time in a workshop, or do I just go all in with the RR as my main and only vehicle?

Very nice. Just check for rust on rear arches and bottom of top tailgate, plus make sure there is no oil in coolant… (oil cooler known issue)… other than that, it’s the usual things like make sure everything works.

4.4TDV8 has more torque than the 5.0SC, all nice and low down and accessible. The SC more power, obviously.

Have you seen it yet/had a drive?

Once you’ve driven it, you won’t want to be in the Nissan, and that’s not a snob thing, the L322 is just that good.

Keep on top of things maintenance wise and it will serve you well.
