New addition to an old addiction will I ever come clean ?

Laughing

Yep, gone and done it. I was pushed by my wife to agree that we buy it too !

Seeing we live in Germany my wife's argument was that we should own a FFRR because it is still possible!
We both are Dutch and also work in the Netherlands but owning a FFRR is pretty much extortionate over there.

It's not like owning one is a cheap affair in general but the road tax we would be paying are calculated to various factors which mostly come to a certain amount by fuel type (diesel is the most expensive), passenger licensed car or van (van is no option as in Holland you can only pick that option if it is a company vehicle) and weight of the vehicle. Guess what, we would have all the expensive boxes ticked which adds to around €4000,- per annum ! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Anyway, we're not paying that much as we're in Germany so we have more or less "only" the fuel and running costs Rolling with laughter

Have been through most of the model line up at LR although not all variations of each model.

I'm a pretty good self taught mechanic but I'm sure there might be trouble ahead Laughing

Cheers, Ard

Dutch git may not understand that , that’s tough English . As he is the OP I’ll observe the post.

It’s a pun. Cracking has two meanings. A. Fantastic B breaking …. Thus certain 405’s on here are breaking.

Welcome… Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Thanks for the replies people !
I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of the 405 pun in good time Thumbs Up

Not have taken many pictures yet but we'll get there.
It's been a mad few days with us driving back up from Spain, picking up McFat and doing some upkeep around the house after having been busy for the last few weeks with work and holiday.

On a first "fault" finding mission I took off the cover on the engine, there was soot on the RH side of the cover (EU passenger side) but I also noticed it has been worked on before, quite possibly near down by the oil filter. Haven't had much time in there yet but I'm sure I will be spending ALL the time in that area !

The L405 pun was about me saying it’s a cracking site, a good site…. And the L405 has just had a recall on some models for a part on the front suspension cracking and then breaking….

Definitely you. Laughing IIRC you were doing some sort of soft dash conversion to a maroon RRC or disco - that was a long time ago.

Oddly enough, I went looking to see if orrp was still around the other day. ( I gave up on paying the domain fees for it many years ago ). V8 or else ...

Had Fatty Fat on the Autobahn today as we went somewhere. It does 200kph pretty darn quickly for such a beast of a car ! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Had a leisurely drive down and back clocking up around 300 km and the average fuel consumption is 9.5 km per Litre so that was pretty good in my view considering we did around 110 km/h more or less constant.
