Ridiculous insurance quote

I’ve just had my insurance renewal from Adrian Flux.
It has jumped from £800 to £1800 !
A thousand pound increase
It’s a 2011 4.4 TDV8.
Unbelievable

Even my 335D has gone from 600 to 900 this year. I suspect a lot of it is down to parts supply issues (and prices) and longer time in hire cars and people trying it on more. Then you throw in the well known nickability of the later models and I can see why things are jumping massively. It's frustrating as the companies do also seem to be going for Censored -taking levels of profiteering!

Go back to them and say too expensive and watch them keep dropping the price, they did it for me, i didnt use them in the end, but they went from 6k to 2k that was for multiple vehicles though.

My L322 was about £370 back in January. Thought I’d get a quote for an L405… think I put in a 2016/17 4.4 AB…. £1392 cheapest 😱.

Don't laugh but my v8 D3 was 345 last year they wanted almost 1200 to renew no accidents no claims clean licence max no claims discount .

Swopped the car over to the wife who just had a total loss cause some dick set fire to her car £600, there all at it at the moment.

Insurance company been sending me reminders to renew every couple of days wonder why I didn't. Today they sent me a final reminder and my proof of no claims showing iv never claimed.

Cheeky Censored .

Well, Ive just renewed with the RAC and have included their full UK recovery service for just over £750….

I used Go Compare and could have got the insurance even cheaper if i wonted to go with an obscure company.

I did ask Adrian Flux if they wanted to re quote having told them of the RAC quote and they came back with £1400 !!! The chap seemed quite surprised when i turned them down !!

So as a family we’ve be fretting about car insurance for a few months. My daughter ( BMW 116i ) just saved over £200 by following Martin Lewis MSE advice to get quotes around 23 days prior to renewal. My Son ( Jag XK 4.2 ) is getting quotes that are £ 250-£300 cheaper than his renewal. My renewal ( Vogue TDV8 4.4 ) is not due until April next year but I’m sure based on their experiences that MSE is going to save me few a £.

Here’s a link if you wish to try it out (No Association).
