HA! I just answered my own question. Yes, they are equivalent products. The Permatex website has a Product Cross Reference page (https://www.permatex.com/contact/cross-reference/) that shows the two products can be interchanged.

Pretty much any good quality liquid PTFE will be fine, I get the Loctite supplied at work hence the referral.

Larry, why not order a brand new filler & drain bung? They come with the correct sealant installed and ready to fit... |
