I get no issues with my box, so I'm planning a straight drain, filter change, new fluid and seals.

However, when I had my 3.6, there was a seal kit available for the 6HP. Having searched quite widely online and in ZF's product catalogue, there are no part numbers listed for either a seal kit or the mechatronic sleeve, and if I search Google, whatever comes up is always for the 6HP and not the 8HP.

Are these non-service items on the 8HP? Or does someone have the part numbers or a link to the appropriate kit(s)?

The ZF part no. for a ZF 8HP70X oil change kit without oil is 1087 298 365, and with oil it’s 1087 298 364. The kit includes the plastic sump/filter, screws & filler plug, but not the Mechatronic sleeve.

Land Rover sell a ‘plug service kit’ p/n LR023292 which includes the Mechatronic sleeve as well as the plugs, and also the plastic sump/filter & screws p/n LR065238

Regarding the seals, because the 8HP70 has a chain-driven vane pump the connections between the Mechatronic unit and the pump and casing are quite different to the 6-speed e.g. separate sleeves for the pump inlet and outlet. I would avoid disturbing this if I were you.

No, I'm afraid the sleeves are different. 6HP = 0501 216 272, 8HP = 0501 220 929.
