I’ve read quite a bit on here about maintaining the steps but my problem is slightly different on unlocking the car both steps deploy normally. However on opening the passenger door step comes out but immediately goes back in. I wouldn’t have noticed but SWMBO makes a bit of a fuss, can they be reset? Geoff |

Alternatively, there is a reset button. Sit in the drivers seat. In front of your right knee is a switch panel with two switches. One opens the tailgate, the other resets the steps. Just hold the steps button in for 10 seconds. It might work. My one needs resetting if I have gone over serious potholes. It thinks I’ve been off roading. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

Well I've never noticed that button before but it does seem to have done the trick - thanks. Geoff |

How have you never noticed that button Geoff? How do you open your boot lid for the wife? |

Ive only had the car a few years, always nice to discover something new - anyway it didn't work. Geoff |

17 model the steps are turned on/off from the main screen menu. I turn mine off when just pulling the car in and out of the garage and messing around with it and reactivated them when I go on a journey. overfinch modified |
