I just read this on the Wrington website

Does anyone know what diffentiates these earlier alloys from later L322 alloys, the stud bolts are all M14 1.5 pitch, as are later L322's, so its not that, maybe the seat of the nut has something to do with it, I am looking at my 2004 wheel nuts, and my 2010 wheel nuts and cannot really see any difference, obviously I am missing the blindingly obvious ???

The difference is the diameter of the threaded part of the nut that goes inside the wheel.... Pete

Below the washer, it is a slightly smaller diameter of the nut approx 20mm than all the later JLR rims ??

thank you so much, that photo clears it up completely - just measured my old wheel nuts and indeed they are about 20mm across the dia - so I will put those in a box labelled RR L322 2001 to 2005
