On my way back from Switzerland, decided to take the "Beast" on a fantastic off road excursion, crossing the coastal Alps from Limone-Piemonte to Sanremo. The "Alta Via del Sale" (High salt route) is a 45 km off road track that crosses the mountain range starting at 1400m and reaching 2250m. Incredible terrain and panoramic views throughout. A must if you are in the area, worth the detour. Not for beginners or if heights are an issue. In several section the tyres are on the edge of precipices.
