Can you recommend one from personal use Haylands ?

I'm hoping to get access to a 1000Nm cordless one .... if that doesn't do the job then .....

cheers

I've had a few of the older Snap on guns over the years which gave been fine but I never got them new and I've generally sold them on and upgraded when I've had the chance. I've got a new Bosch 1050 18V now as all my other cordless stuff is Bosch Pro so it reduces the amount of chargers and batteries I need and it's great. Just remember that if you do go for an impact wrench that you should use impact sockets with them, and that any extensions you add in to reach bits will reduce the impact's effectiveness. A good quality, thick and stiff breaker bar with some pipe on the end is a good bit of extra leverage. The trick that experience shows you is that some times it's better to use the big bar, and other times it's better to use the impact so that the bolt never stops unscrewing. Sometimes it'll gall up and take a lot of effort to get moving again, where the impact wrench would avoid that. Other times there's no replacement for a big sodding bar!

I’ve replaced both front struts and the bolts came out easily.

Ahh, the advantage of living where rust isn’t an issue (I have a 20 year old L322 with no rust). Ron B. VK2OTC

Update -

Got it out Thumbs Up

I’d tried a 6ft scaffold bar with a breaker - it just bent. In the end I heated the bolt for 5 minutes and then the thread on the nut side. A few good hits with a long sledgehammer on the nut at the end of the thread broke the rust on the bolt and it slowly slid out. New bolts going in so I didn’t worry about the state of the nuts.
