L460 alloys on L405

L460 alloys on L405
Has anybody fitted wheels off the new L460 to their L405 ? I’m struggling finding the right wheel nuts as they are different- any ideas ?

It is possible. I have just fitted L460 wheels and tyres to my L405.

They work really well and the Michelin Primacy All Season in 275/50R21 clear without any fouling.

The issue is that the L460’s now use bolts rather than studs/nuts so you need to source some nuts that are M14x1.5 and a 60* taper. In order to achieve safe thread engagement you need to ensure the nuts are fully threaded and don’t have an unthreaded section near the opening. I found nuts for a Ford Transit seem to be the correct fit.

Very swish, I haven't seen that style before, they suit the car.

Do they improve ride at all?

Thanks! They are style 5126 alloys. I only came across them by chance on browsing eBay. I particularly like the satin grey finish on them, they feel different to the usual wheels you see but still keeps with my rule of only using genuine LR products.

I had the standard 255/55R20 Pirelli Scorpions before that were original fit with the car, and the new wheels and tyres feel very different (improved). How much that is a size change or how much it is due to tyre manufacturer I am not sure, but so far the Michelins are really great. I like the 275 width but didn’t want low profile so as not to loose the ride comfort and also protection from pot holes etc. so these are perfect.

It’s different TPMS so had to put in some L405 units.

Didn’t know you could reprogram the TPMS! Is this via a GAP IID tool or similar?

Thank you! They don’t just look good, I also found out yesterday on my first proper drive (300 mile round trip) that they have massively improved the ride and handling over my old wheels/tyres.

Possibly didn’t need to change the tpms on my wheels then but now I now you can reprogram TPMS Thumbs Up

Wheels look great 👍

Would fitting these wheels affect warranty / insurance

Would like to go down the same route at some point 👍 Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Would you be able to point me in the right direction for obtaining the correct wheel nuts in order to fit these please Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

I am now using these:

https://www.trsuk.co.uk/shop/m14-x-1-5-21m...l-nut.html

I originally bought some of these:

https://www.alloywheelnutsandbolts.co.uk/p...hex-set-5/

But I wasn’t happy with the thread engagement. I could only get 8 turns on them, which equates to 12mm of engagement. 14mm is the usual min spec. The new nuts give 13 turns or 19mm engagement.
