Drive Shaft Removal Tool

Desperate need of help with this one!!

OSR all stripped just need to remove drive shaft from drive flange to check the ABS ring on the drive shaft after an ABS fault code for that corner came up.

So far the lump hammer and the useless tool below have failed.

Does anyone know of tool out there that can do this? I have seen posts where people make tools, unfortunately I don’t have access to welding or matching facilities. I need to buy a tool.

Any ideas?

I’ve used a hydraulic one before for a stuck driveshaft. That pictured on will likely not be large enough and wil snap under high load.

I had to use a blow torch on the hub, and a pry bar to tighten down on the ram. I burst the seals but for a one off effort it worked. V8 or else ...

Have you got (or can you borrow) a big hammer drill - the bigger the better?
I’ve found them quite effective in hammer only mode obviously

Update on this. In the end due to not wanting to damage the driveshaft with the lump hammer I have pulled the shaft complete knuckle/ hub out. Going to take the assembly to my local garage to press the shaft out.

However! The aluminium EPB cable is solidly rusted into the knuckle and of course snapped.

Seriously considering dropping the rear subframe to do this job properly. Shot blast and powder coat subframe, new bushes throughout, new hand brake cables, new brake lines - the full shabang. And of course treat any corrosion underneath.

Looks like the full 4.4 TDV8 exhaust has to come off.

Anyone else gone this far with back end refurbishment? Kevin
