DTC Codes

Hi Guys,

So I've had the 'Restricted Performance' come up a few times since I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but then it goes off on the next restart. Code comes back as 'P2246 - Water in Fuel Sensor Circuit' I decided to fill with a full tank of Premium Diesel and see if it eventually stops which it doesn't seem to be. When I bought it and initially plugged it in to get this code there was a few stored codes across the modules. Since this is usually the case on cars anyway as I had the same on my brand new Audi, I decided to clear them all and see what comes back if any.

They did all clear and was showing 0 faults on all modules. Over the weekend whilst parked on a hill I had the car in park with the park brake on, when I came back and started it, the red P symbol on the dash was flashing, anyway it did come off and I set off home with no issues, tried it again and it's been fine since. I then decided to plug it in again and see if there was any codes stored as one of the ones last time was about the Park Brake, and to my suprise all the codes had come back again, these are as below...

U0126 - Lost Communication with steering angle sensor module

U0415 - Invalid data sent from ABS control module

B12FE-13 - Fan

U0128 - Lost communication with parking brake control module

P0814-01 - Transmission range display circuit fault

U0140 - Lost communication with BCM

B10EC-15 - Passenger door double locking motor

B1109-15 - Passenger door central locking motor

I'm beginning to wonder if the water in fuel sensor fault is coming from something like a failing BCM, however having said that, I did plug it in after I cleared all the codes and the 'Restricted Performance' came up again and the only stored fault code was the Water in fuel sensor circuit code. So maybe it's not related and this is a seperate issue.

Anyone have any ideas what could cause the range of faults as above. Begining to think theres a wiring or BCM issue.

Thanks,

The GAP IID will always throw a load of spurious and false codes. For the water in fuel fault maybe change the fuel filter as this is where the sensor is. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I thought about doing this, thing is some people say the housing can be the culprit, it’s still under the dealers responsibility to resolve. Thing is if you buy the housing from LR it comes with a new filter, sensor and the housing, the filter is £100 alone and the sensor probably £160 and the housing is £411 if you buy the filter, then it’s not that and need to buy the sensor, then it turns out it’s the housing you pay almost half the cost + the cost of the housing again.

I’m more concerned about the other fault codes as do they seem to point toward a possible failing BCM?

IID codes that tell you of lost communication with various modules are as I said 'spurious' 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

As above, spurious. I get a few codes on mine when I plug it in for a monthly health check.
