Are rubber car mats destroying my shoes?

OK so this is a little random and i will preface my question with i know carpet must be softer than rubber Laughing - but has anyone else noticed their shoes falling apart quicker if they are using the rubber car mats?

I find my office shoes are always breaking or rubbing away particularly on the right heel - are the carpet mats kinder to shoes?

Take your high heels off when driving. Wear flatties. Laughing

I've got rubber mats and haven't had any significant wear on my shoes. Very Happy John

I haven't noticed any unusual deterioration while using rubber mats in the past, even with the manual shift freelander. With that said, I'm using regular mats ON TOP of the rubber ones on the fattie...
