The dealer took the car back to repair, 6 weeks later nothing had been done beyond the bluetooth module being replaced (a job that wouldn't even take 5 minutes). There was no indication when anything would (or even if) would be sorted. I had to get a refund.

Do you have an IID tool? If you do then if I were you I would check cars config on there and see if the entries are enabled, then if they are update the seat modules. Might not help but (if you have an IID) then little cost to do so.

I have another 2010 Autobiography (with working rear seat recline & cooling / heating) so if you need anything checked / confirmed on a working one please let me know.

Ah no worries. Thanks for getting back to me, it's appreciated. I think I will wait until it next goes in for a service as I rarely use the rear seats. It's just annoying

Thought I’d add my (very) anecdotal experience with this exact issue ( rear seat controls lighting up but not outputting a function ). I had tried the isolation switch, digging in the wiring to and from the front memory control module and hunting the wiring from that module (under the drivers seat) to the rear seat plugs.

Today I replaced the battery, which was in the car when I bought it, with a Bosch AGM battery (as I had had some issues with low battery performance/quick depletion when off charge). I thought I’d just go and give the rear seats a go on a whim and they fired into life!

I’m not sure if the car limits functions based on low voltage/poor battery health but this is the only thing I can link to them starting to work again. If you haven’t changed your battery recently, it may be worth a long shot! (As I say, purely anecdotal. But I was starting to tear my hair out chasing this specific electrical gremlin)

L322 2010 3.6 tdv8 autobiography

Oddly enough I wondered about that a day or two ago & hadn't got round to replying, then forgot, sorry.

They do limit functions based on battery power (or maybe there just isnt the power there for some things?). I found after the first snow when I'd got my current L322 that the heated windscreen & aux-heater didn't work. Had the battery checked (mainly because a previous car did the same thing for that reason) and it was working at 60-odd percent of capacity. It was replaced & the aux-heater & windscreen were fine.

I did find though that when the windscreen & aux-heater wouldn't work that the rear seats were still working fine. Maybe there's a sale of what is isolated at what battery capacity but I'd say that if the heated windscreen & aux-heater do work that battery health likely isn't the issue.

Hi Alex, there may be some truth in that. When it was in being serviced they had the doors open a while and I also have the electronic sidesteps which I am sure drain the battery. They mentioned they got a low battery warning during the service so I will try that and let you know. That could be the problem as everything else looks ticketyboo. I have exactly the same but I have one more.
The driver sequential window doesn’t work correctly. Given that you can block rear electrical seats with this panel. Wouldn't this panel be the source of the problem ?

For your information I change the batterie and put an AGM and the problem is still there.

An update for anyone who has yet to solve this problem.

Since my previous theory of voltage retention due to battery health, my seats had stopped working once again. I have since torn most of my interior out, following power and grounds for the seat motors, both testing fine in terms of continuity and resistance but no supply voltage to the motors.

Since there was no supply voltage, I assumed it’s probably a control issue rather than a cable lay issue. I thought I’d give offloading/re-loading the rear seats option in the CCF files, using my IID tool (as a Hail Mary). Oddly, upon offloading the options, running the CCF update and then testing the seats, they are now working. I’m yet to bite the bullet and re-activate the rear seats in the CCF as they are working in their current configuration.

In short, un-installing the rear seats options (recline, lumbar and heated/cooling) from the drivers seat module has fixed it.

Very much a half baked solution at this point in time. Noting that I prematurely shared what worked last time, which went on to fail, I’ll do some miles and continue to test them over the coming weeks. Hopefully this gives a little bit of hope to anyone that has just accepted they will never work.

If you have an IID tool and feel comfortable adjusting the CCF files, it’s worth a go.
