Wipers... again...

Mine came with new flat blade wipers, they lasted about a month, I replaced them with Bosch normal wipers and they have lasted 8-9 months.... I expected more.....

What blades are you using and do they last, I clean mine regularly and don't let them work on a dry screen but they seem to have worn prematurely....... Pete

I have just changed mine, they were original when car was built lasted 5Y 4 months they were great.

Changed them last week for----Bosch Wiper Blade Aerotwin A113S, Length: 600mm/500mm − Set of Front Wiper Blades for £25 Prime !

They seem OK but noticed the driver side blade throws water onto the passenger side screen after each wipe not a lot, but enough to cause streaks even after final wipe. so not best pleased with them so far. Not had much rain here in Norfolk until today so not really had a good test yet. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

See this thread:

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic49162.html?highlight=vipa

Most folks seemed to like Bosch or VIPA a year or so ago.
In that thread I’d bought HEYNER ones (wwwwiperblades) already, but expecting them not to last, I got a set of Vipa ones as spares.
Happy to say 16 months later the Heyner ones are still working very well, smooth & silent on my L405. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Thanks Craig, always the way these days, you just can't buy quality... Rolling Eyes

Gremlin, they don't sell the Heyner ones anymore..... Rolling Eyes

They sell some "Hybrid" ones, sort of half way between conventional and flat blades... I may give them a try..!! Pete

Pete, ive recently had the RR Detailed and ceramic coated... The guy used Liquid Armour Water/Rain Repellent Treatment on the glass...

Certainly seams to make the wipers work better in the rain...

Might be worth a try? Thumbs Up

@Pete:
Ah, sorry I hadn’t realised. Shame about Heyner they are/were a quality product, (if not quite absolutely OEM in appearance, but I prefer function over form in a working part).

@Stan Rolling with laughter
Hmmmm, got me thinking - the birds around here seem to LOVE pooping on the glass roof of the FF, -do they think it’s water, maybe? Maybe a viper on the roof will scare zem off, ja? (See what I did there?, groan Embarassed ) “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Stan,

"You are a very funny man, I kill you last....."

Craig,

Cheers I was going to give the screen a good clean with some

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385712296089?

I tried some G3 before and it worked well but it's very messy....

I never know whether to use the Liquid Armour stuff or not, I found that under some circumstances it makes the wipers work better but sometimes they seem to move the water around and don't clear it well.... Mind you that was with Rainx so may try the Liquid Armour...

I gave the car it's first deep clean last week, ceramic coated it etc etc, got lots of buckets out to impress the neighbours etc etc so it looked nice for 5 mins then it's rained a bit virtually every day since with Sahara dust in it so it looks like a mess again.

Gremlin,

cheers for that. I'll have a look and yes the silly roof thing (wish I didn't have one) just collects bird poo...

First world problems hey...

It's in having two wheels refurbished today, I'm missing it... been phoning the tracker all day to check they still have it...!!! Pete

Gremlin, looks like the Hybrid ones are Heyner ones, three quid more from them direct, they have 7 different styles to choose from... Shocked Pete
