Afraid I wasn't there for that BB! I'm not a church-goer, nor an enthusiast of stained glass.

My task was to get up over the Fell to take photos of low flying aircraft across Ullswater - one ship in particular..... The German Tornado's had a planned route home from RIAT (Fairford) via a low level route through the Lakes.

Sadly (for me), a mix-up at Air Traffic Control saw them pull out over Morecombe at the last minute. It ended-up being a 700 mile round trip for nothing.

Still, I have this one from last year (in Scotland).

St Peters, it’s not really about the church and Windows, more the controversial story they tell of the wartime aircraft carrier, it’s Captain who came from Martindale and the evacuation of the Norwegian royal family.
But any excuse to visit such a breathtaking out of the way part of the Lake District.
I always considered myself very fortunate that the lakes fell in my patch of working for best part of thirty years, mostly driving around in my early fatties.
