no. go for as modern an engine as you can afford. The 4.4L TDV8 is sublime compared to any of the others. |

The later diesels look to be an expensive thing to have a mechanic work on. Ron B. VK2OTC

Speaking from experience if you want an L322, go for the 4.4 V8 Diesel - if you have any doubts just go for a test drive. Or if you want petrol get the 5.0 SC this is the only other engine I would consider. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

I went through similar and bought my first l322 last weekend. It took a while and it's higher Mike's than I would have liked but went for a early 2006 jag 4.4, as had full main dealer service history and everything works, well it did yesterday.

'04 MY M62 owner here: They're cheap for a reason. I would steer clear of all those if budget permits. As others have mentioned, the 4.4 TDV8 is the one to own but beware of emission regulations with diesels... |

IMHO the most important thing in buying a 322 is the rotting of the rear sills, inner sills and wheel arches, if you can't weld and fabricate you are looking at a couple of grand for a decent job...

I'm hoping the ulez gets kicked out so I can keep my L322 4.4 M62 after doing the chain guides and hg it's runs like a dream. |

I’m hoping diesel drops in price to £0.50 /L, road tax is £12 and insurance becomes free. All more likely than ULEZ being kicked out…. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

3.6 tdv8 shouldn't really be an option when the 4.4 tdv8 is newer, more economical, quieter, has more power and comes with the far better 8 speed auto. It is also not that much more expensive to purchase. |
