Air suspension failure

Right see what you make of this, car is currently in the garage after some MOT work and is currently displaying air suspension failure. The diagnostic says front left hand side sensor, the sensor has been replaced but the fault persists. Live data shows no output from either rear or front on the left side so wondering if there is a link somehow between the two electrically?
Both sensors on the right appear to be behaving correctly. This only happened after being up on the ramp for some work on the brakes.

I'll suggest it to the garage, hopefully it's something simple like that 🤔
As this only happened after it went up in the air on a lift and the wheels were hanging down its a definate possibility, it's just strange that it still points to the front one even though its a new sensor

I suspect the garage haven't fitted the height sensor properly.

This is how it should be aligned (with the hinge on each side facing the wheel):

I had exactly the same issue with a local garage doing some work too, who happily returned it to me with a suspension fault message on the dash and said it was there before the car was given to them and that i needed to pay for a new height sensor. Thanks for the photos, as they say a picture saves a thousand words and I'll take a trip over and check. Again there was no issue when I sent it in so it's definitely a service induced fault

I reckon it's flipped aswell. I had the exact same issue.

The garage said that it now had a suspension fault & they would rectfy when it was due back in a couple of days later.

I suggested that the sensor had flipped, but they ensured me that it was in the correct place. I unbolted the sensor & realigned it!.

Update

Got the car back finally with all the MOT work done, but despite saying they had investigated the suspension issue i still have the error message. so i hooked up my reader and looked at the sensor offsets and low and behold the front left is reading 38 all the others are at around 410 (so all those who said it's flipped looks like your correct).

interestingly the suspension appears to still function to a degree as it maintains normal road height quite happily (just can't switch to off road or access, so i guess its going a best guess with the readings off the three other sensors for now)

just need a few mins and no rain to investigate the front left sensor position and hopefully clear the fault for good Wink
