Help! - MAPT Sensor values on 4.4TDV8

Afternoon all! Hoping someone with a Gap Tool or other OBD2 reader with live values could do me a favour and answer the following regarding the MAPT sensor on top of the plenum?

What is the pressure reading with ignition ON but engine OFF on your 4.4 TDV8?

I've been troubleshooting an EGR restricted flow error. My EGR is clean and all pipework and gaskets appear to be sound, so physical flow appears unrestricted from what I can tell. I am now looking into other possible sources for the error, and a dodgy MAPT sensor could trigger the fault if giving incorrect readings.

When my ignition is on and engine off, my MAPT reads 14.5psi and I assume it should be 0psi as there's no pressure with nothing running, right? At idle, the reading remains at about 14.5; at a steady cruise the reading is 16-17; with part load it reads 20-25; and with full load and both turbos spooling it reads 30-35psi. There's nothing I can see in the WM to indicate expected pressures or ranges or how to test the sensor for accuracy. However, a reading of 14.5 with no airflow at all seems very odd, so grateful if others might be able to look at theirs just for a comparison before I begin wondering if my sensor is on its way out as a new one is £100! Shocked

Many thanks in advance? Thumbs Up Andy

Suggest you include where in the IID menu you'd want someone to look to save them the hassle.

Manifold absolute pressure should be 14.5psi at sea level. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

🤣🤣🤣 knew I shouldn’t have embarrassed myself in public before checking the rest of the internet first. Kinda makes sense that normal air pressure isn’t 0, so why would the sensor also read the same…

Well, other than highlighting that my A-level Physics grade should’ve been a lot lower than it was, I guess that’s good news and helps me to rule out another possible glitch in the L322 matrix so I can focus efforts elsewhere.

Thanks for the tip! 👍 Andy
