Me: I bought that from you, but that was written off 5 years ago, are you on DVLA web, or Stratstone database?
Stealer: our own, can you provide original reg of Range Rover before you changed plate (provided)
Me: by the way, I bought the car from you 9 months ago, so my personal details should be all over your databases.
Stealer: okay, found the car, it’ll be £564 + vat, + MOT
Me: okay, fine, let’s agree dates, but I work away, so I need to drop the car with you on a Monday and can’t collect until the Friday.
Stealer: erm, not sure we can do that, I’ll check with my manager.
Me: erm, I don’t want a loan car, just need to leave with you for 5 days.
Stealer: you can’t leave your car here all week, so would Wednesday the 21st August still be okay?
Me: NOPE, I’ll go elsewhere….but not before I’ve popped in to ream the dealership manager.

Am I being unreasonable? Does anybody have similar woeful experiences in Derby “Dealership”. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.

We use chesterfield, and it’s always a battle if I’m honest to the point I dread it going purely based on the way the dealership conduct themselves.

This type of behaviour isn’t unique to JLR dealers, I find a similar helpless attitude from a Skoda dealer I’ve used for nearly 15 years to look after various cars owned over that time and who were previously faultless.

Now I find dealing with them an ordeal.
