Windscreen wiper tubing protector plate

Well after finding my washer bottle full, but no fluid coming onto windscreen, I went through all the checks, pump etc. After a while I noticed the supply pipe from the washer bottle was crushed flat just above where the battery is fitted. The pipe had ridden up onto the bodywork above the battery and was being flattened by the bonnet.
Now this got me thinking, in the 10 years I have owned the car there has always been a plastic cover, that has just been propped up inside the battery compartment, it was obviously there for a reason but in 10 services it has never been moved. I have just found out it clips above the negative terminal of the battery and is there to hold the wiring and the water pipe for the windscreen to guess what to STOP THE BONNET CRUSHING THE WATER PIPE. Hey learn something new every 10 years. Rolling with laughter
Here’s a picture of the plate, clipped in its proper place, holding the wire and the water pipe safely away from the closed bonnet.

Hey another picture showing my new car cover

Hi I got it from a company called Richbrook international, it’s an indoor cover so is very soft, light and stretchy, not waterproof though. The thing is my car only comes out of the garage for about 6 weeks of the year now including MOTs and servicing. I have always kept it covered but not with nice stretchy ones you can buy now. It may even break the 50k mile barrier this year. Thumbs Up
