Slight Oil Leak on Pre-Inspection

Hi all,

My first post, but hopefully not my last Smile

I had a mechanic undertake a Pre-Purchase inspection on a 2013 4.4 SDV8 L405 Vogue SE yesterday.
Overall he was very positive about the car and suggested (caveated obviously) that the vehicle had been looked after and for a 10 year old car was in excellent overall condition.

One thing he flagged up was a very minor oil leak toward to rear of the engine - see picture below. He wouldn't make any assessment of what this could be during the inspection, or whether it was likely an indication of a future serious issue. Would anybody have any experience/idea of what could be causing it?

Mine has a slight leak there also I think it's from the turbo pipe or something, very slight so I haven't done anything about it. overfinch modified

Thanks - do you have any idea how long it has been like that?

I think I'll get the garage to look at it, whilst we're still in the negotiation position!

Henry

Make sure the rear brake pipes are inspected too and, given the age of the car, that there's evidence of them having been renewed at some point. I've just had mine fail, on a 2013 Vogue SE.

Thanks Seatown, will do.

The report didn't explicitly throw up any issues with brakes per se, so will investigate.
