If you try to disable parts of the system I would imagine it would fault the whole cruise control feature so nothing worked... Pete

The button holding procedure that someone with a L405 mentioned was to hold the distance reducing button for a few seconds after the minimum distance is shown which is only shown whilst ACC is enabled. I don't recall on which model L405 this worked though. I suspect ACC would be re-enabled on the next ignition cycle rather than permanently off, similar to the minimum distance resetting. |

Your radar unit must be more than just a little out of alignment. When I fitted my radar unit my eye-balling for staight ahead was good enough to prevent false alerts.

I agree with Graeme, mine doesn't do that, I use it all the time and never had it slam the brakes on...!! Pete

I assume the question is "Can I just have cruise control without the adaptive bit..?"

I'll have to have a look for the radar sensor. It doesn't do it often and I have sort of leant to drive around it now - taking it extra wide around trucks. I can't remember whether I've had it happen in the UK, so maybe it's something about driving on the wrong side..... |
