Rear sub frame bushes

Hi

Does anyone know how long RAVE says it should take to change the rear sub frame bushes in a 2011 4.4 ?

Thanks

I've got a set of Genuine bushes sitting on my shelf in the garage and I'm waiting to pluck up the courage to get them changed.
I'm thinking I could do them in a day as long as the bush extractor I've bought is man enough to pull them out.
Are you planning to do them yourself or have you had a horrendous labour quote?

Joe90 did an excellent write up here...

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic21092.html

It' looks like it took over two days to do them on his drive, and yes you need a decent puller, the cheap ones on ebay just don't work...!! Pete

I bought the pulling kit of ebay and the correct bushes rather than the BMW ones, took me a day to change all four bushes, mine also had the rivets in that needed drilling out and replacing (2012 model)

Its a doable job for the DIY mechanic Thumbs Up

How many hours labour is your indie asking?
Does 12 -14 sound about right ?

Is there an official by the book number of hours in RAVE ?

Thank you to others for responses

Can anyone recommend a bush pulling kit?

And, other than MOT advisories, what’s the symptoms of failing/failed rear subframe bushes?

Hi Rambles, I don’t think it was anywhere near that but it was the top hub bushes that were replaced, I’ll look out the invoice and let you know Thumbs Up

They said initially that the bush had all but disintegrated and that the entire hub assembly might need to be replaced , as it had been moving around, possibly enlarging the hole but fortunately it was just the bush. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Book time is around 6 hours, from memory. On a brand new car. With the JLR tooling. You'd have to be pretty lucky to achieve that on a 10yr old L322 Laughing

I've just done mine - took me about 4h.

I used this tool:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014JL7F9O?psc...ct_details

I'll be selling it on now I'll likely never use it again.

I used X5 Meyle bushes and 6mm rivets in the original holes.

Alternative is to use genuine LR bushes and sealant.
