Job done and it couldn't have been easier. My personal lighting configuration is now complete.
I grabbed a pack of 12V 0,3W warm 3000K white LEDs for 5 euros online.
As my tail lights are aftermarket (Supertweaks) and didn't come with side marker fitting, I drilled a 5mm hole into which I wedged the LED bulb. Press fit, pushing with a flat screwdriver is all what's needed.
Attached black lead to #5 and red to #4 not on the plug but onto the lighting board. Of course the two fine wires are squeezed between the backing plate and the cluster but not enough to get damaged while water resistance doesn't seem to be affected either.
I'll leave it as is for now and if this simple, dirty approach shows any weaknesses, I will tidy things up with sealant behind the bulbs, a hole through the backing plate for the wires and solderings on the board.
The intensity is just right and there's no flickering. I might proceed to replace the front side marker bulbs with these LED ones as well.
