Door upper finisher B

Gents mine are getting quite badly corroded - I am assuming that they are just alloy covers but cant find any on the net anyone know if they are paintable ie take them off rub down and paint? or where to get them

I'm guessing this is what you're referring to ?

Sadly, I don't think it's fixable - at least not easily or cost effectively.

The blemish shown here was present on my FF when I bought it five years ago.
Fortunately for me, it does not appear to have worsened in that time.

I think it's quite common.
When looking for my current car, I did see at least one other similarly afflicted.

I did sound out my Indy with a view to addressing about a year later.
I forget the detail of his response, but what it seemed to amount to was I think pretty much a dismantling of much of the door.

I think I recall him saying that the satin finish coating is not a self-adhesive film.

Sorry.

That is indeed the offending piece I haver corrosion on both front doors not sure if it is paintable - Mine is going in to have sills and wheel arches done in a couple of weeks also doing pretty much a full respray - 200 odd thousand miles of chips etc so will ask them to have a go.
Interestingly they are not to be seen on eBay
Guess it might be one of those bits that I just dont look at Laughing

I swapped both of mine when doing the work on the car. Funnily enough the corrosion on mine were only on the front doors too.

They're available from LR and are around £50 each.

Part numbers are:

RH Front Door - DDC000121PMD
LH Front Door - DDC000131PMD

Easy enough to change... Open the window, gently prise out the rubber and unscrew.

Here's the link to part numbers and prices:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/p...and-rover/

They're showing in stock so you can order direct from that link or from your dealer. Often worth searching eBay for dealers selling off new old stock slightly cheaper too.

They are very simple to change, details of how are on the forum or in the workshop manual on the Wiki Smile
